Time with family, and time to build.

  • Built and deployed self-directed products end to end, design through to production code: a tutoring app in React Native, a print pipeline taking a tabletop game system from source text to press-ready PDF, and a public-domain literature repository.
  • Kept a cross-project record of what does and does not hold up when designing and building with AI, and turned the findings into standing conventions. The ones that proved to be invariants are enforced as automated checks rather than written down and hoped for.

Intruder.io

B2B cybersecurity SaaS platform protecting 3,000+ companies worldwide.

  • Repositioned Asset Discovery from an underused feature into the platform's primary entry point in Q2 2025, with the trust infrastructure to support adoption: cloud-connected customers activated at 11x the rate of non-cloud customers and retained at 1.46x, and the surface returned 10x attributable revenue after six months.
  • Directed a brand evolution in Q4 2024 that kept Intruder's distinctive personality while adding the credibility to compete against vendors with ten times the resources: +52% year-on-year enterprise revenue growth in the six months after launch, and +33% product-team capacity won through design-system reuse rather than headcount.
  • Built a behaviour-based metrics framework in Q3 2024 to replace targets that were entirely revenue-based, which was itself the problem I was addressing: +140% vulnerabilities detected, +94% targets monitored, a 10x reduction in enterprise median days to fix, and a shared standard product teams could plan against.
  • Cut onboarding from 21 steps to one in Q1 2025, after research and a 30-minute A/B test showed the existing flow was harming conversion: +37% customer activation, +53% of licences bought at activation and +150% external targets added in trials. This established experimentation as a norm in the process.
  • Led end-to-end design of an AI-powered security triage system, defining interaction patterns for transparency, uncertainty, and human override, cutting investigation time from hours to minutes per occurrence for end users.
  • Oversaw implementation of a fully tokenised atomic design system, improving delivery consistency and reducing time to ship new designs.
  • Line-managed a team of 4 designers, running 1:1s, performance reviews and career development planning, and secured pay rises across the team and a promotion to lead for one of them.
  • Expanded the design team by hiring and mentoring 3 additional designers, 2 of whom I coached into senior cross-functional roles.
  • Established continuous research as a core design function, embedding both qualitative and quantitative insight into ongoing product decisions rather than a phase teams skipped under pressure.
  • Presented quarterly design metrics to the executive team, directly influencing roadmap prioritisation and resource allocation.

Head of User Experience and Design

Newsflare

London · May 2017–Sep 2022

Joined as Lead UX/UI Designer, promoted to Product Lead in 2019 and to Head of User Experience and Design in 2022.

UGC video marketplace linking contributors to media buyers worldwide, which grew from around 20 to around 60 people over my time there.

  • Doubled monthly marketplace supply from key customer segments by using research to identify and unlock new supply funnels, which I then oversaw. Supply stepped up almost as soon as the content pipeline went live, and five separate upload journeys were consolidated into one: +50% key-persona uploads, over 200% content-partner uploads.
  • Built the product and design process from the ground up, establishing metrics, team rituals, and cross-functional review cadences.
  • Oversaw 2 growth teams of around 6 people each alongside the design team, coaching team leads on outcome-driven delivery and running cross-team reviews.
